TURNING BUSINESS INTO FASHION

From professional conferences, job interviews, and internships, business clothes have become a must have in my wardrobe. Whenever I think of business clothes my mind automatically jumps to boring black slacks and a black blazer, items that I don't find any interest in owning. Growing up I always hated business attire, but being in college I've had to attend many events with "business attire" as the dress code. The more I've worn it, the more I've loved thinking outside the box and finding business appropriate pieces that I can dress up in a more fashionable way.

With all of that being said, I have found 3 ways to make style business wear and make it more fun to get down to business.

1. Dress it up with accessories

Accessories are one of my favorite things to wear when it comes to completing an outfit. I am jewelry obsessed! When trying to personalize business attire and making it more stylish, accessorizing is a great way to go. Lately, I've been loving hoop and statement earrings to dress up any outfit. I also love to wear rings and bracelets when dressing professionally! I've linked some of my favorites at the moment!

2. Pick pieces that bring out your personality

Business clothes don't have to be boring! Show some of your personality in the pieces you pick. Color and cut are my favorite ways to do this. Maybe it's a fun color blazer or a nice cigarette style pant. Business clothes can get expensive. I would recommend investing in a nice black pant, black blazer, and then going for less expensive "trendy items", whether that be a top, blazer, or fun pair of shoes! Some of my favorite places to buy cute business wear are H&M and Topshop! Topshop, being a UK brand, has some of the more edgy, fashion-forward style pieces that bring so much uniqueness to an outfit. H&M is great for pants as well, but also blazers and tops! Checkered print is super in lately! A checkered pant, blazer, or top would be a great statement piece! Lately I have found some great options! Here are some examples below!

3. Finish the outfit with the perfect pair of shoes

Shoes are probably my favorite thing to buy at the moment. I'm such a sneakers girl, but do love myself a pretty pair of heels or boots! My favorite part of dressing up business wear is finding the perfect pair of shoes. Neutral colors are my favorite for shoes, but I always love a pop of color. Open toe heels from Steve Madden are great because they break in really well and don't kill your toes if you're on your feet all day! I've linked some of my favorite styles below!
