MY FAVORITE DENIM

Unpopular Opinion Fashion Edition: I absolutely love jeans and love wearing them. Is that weird? Anyone else think that way? Don't get me wrong, 80% of the time you'll find me in a sweatshirt and sweats, but when I do decide to "get dressed" (as people say), I typically go for a look revolving around a pair of jeans!
Jean shopping used to be the biggest struggle for me. I was always really awkward and between sizes so when I found a pair of jeans that really fit me well, I bought multiple different colors and styles.
My favorite denim trends right now are the raw hem and mom jeans! The raw hem brings an edge to every pair of denim and adds detail to every outfit. I've been loving the Levi's 501's for this trend. They're a bit cropped which is perfect for summer. They're really easy to dress up or down! I've been wearing them with lower heels by Steve Madden and Adidas Gazelles for some versatility.
My favorite places to find mom jeans or old Levi's are thrift stores! If you're near the Inland Empire, Downtown Redlands has a few great stores for vintage denim; and, Portland, of course, has wonderful vintage stores all throughout downtown.
If you're not someone who likes to thrift shop but are looking for less expensive options, ASOS and Zara make great jeans and are going to have a ton of great options for raw hem and mom jeans! Because of it being a trend, most retailers are going to be selling jeans that are this style.

When looking for the perfect skinny jean, I've found the Topshop Jamie Jean to fit amazingly! I worked in Topshop last summer so I quickly became very familiar with this jean (they also have a ton of other great styles!). This is the type of jean that once you find your fit, you can buy a ton of different washes and styles without having to bother trying them all on.
I love the Jamie Jean because it fits everywhere so nicely without being awkwardly loose in some parts and tight in the others. The Jamie is high-waisted which I personally think is more flattering than a mid-rise or low-rise jean (on me). They also stretch quite a bit which I love! The denim isn't going to be as stiff as it would be in a mom jean or even a straight jean.
Let me know in the comments what your favorite denim trends & brands are!
