Today is New Years Eve and everyone is getting into their feels. Every year around this time, the sentimental Instagram posts and Tweets come out. People are reflecting on what this year held: new opportunities, new friendships, new ways of doing things but also the relationships lost and the endings of old chapters.
2018 was a year full of surprises, blessings, and challenges. I became president of my PRSSA chapter, travelled to Hawaii for the first time, was offered an amazing internship at Nordstrom, started my junior year of college (shoutout Kelly, Kaitlyn, and Nicole) became a freshman leader, made some really awesome friends (you all are the best), was introduced to Forest Home (the most amazing place), hit one year with my best friend (love you, Dal), was offered the best job on campus, created my first ever PR plan with a REAL life client, got a couple new tattoos, travelled more, and started this amazing blog- something that I've wanted to do for so long!
I also learned a lot and was reminded of a lot, some lessons harder than others. I learned how important and powerful forgiveness is. I learned the value in being in the moment and pressing into God during times of uncertainty. I realized that not everyone in your life is meant to be there forever. I was reminded the value in relationships and how important it is to love others- truly love others. I was reminded that nothing is more important than the people in our lives and how we treat each other. I learned the power of prayer. I learned that sometimes we find ourselves in situations or places in life that we don't love, but we get out of things what we put into things. I learned that my perspective on things matters and can heavily influence what I get out of things.
2018 was a crazy year for me. I am so beyond thankful for this year and all it taught me. Thank you to everyone who made it so amazing. I'm leaving this year with my heart so full. In 2019 I want to love more, serve more, say yes more, and explore more, and be way more in the moment. 2019, I'm ready for you!
